Guest Spotlight: Ashley Cooper
We were thrilled to welcome Ashley, who shared insights from her long journey across MSP operations, consulting, vendor leadership, and community building.
Key Takeaways
“Silos are the real enemy.”
Across MSPs and vendors alike, Ashley emphasized that:
- Most breakdowns happen between handoffs
- Sales → Finance → Service must be connected
- Identifying pain chains helps solve problems holistically
“Community is not a strategy — it’s a layer.”
Healthy communities:
- Give people a sense of belonging
- Build authentic peer‑to‑peer trust
- Discomfort is the cost of Community
- Don’t exist to push vendor messaging
- Thrive where users gather naturally, not in walled gardens
“Neurodiversity is a superpower.”
Ashley talked candidly about being “ADHD‑powered” and how:
- Neurodiverse thinkers bring unique problem‑solving strengths
- Many in the MSP space share similar traits
- Naming it reduces isolation and builds connection
- Creativity thrives when boundaries are defined instead of avoided
The chat was full of people echoing that sentiment, reinforcing that our ecosystem is built on diverse minds working in unconventional but brilliant ways.
Automation vs. AI
Ashley’s take:
- AI doesn’t replace automation — it amplifies it
- Automation is earned once a task is done 5–10 times
- Start by automating the parts you fully understand
- Build iteratively, not in one giant leap
- Human‑in‑the‑loop makes early AI safer and more reliable

AutoMAYtion Madness — Launching February 9
We announced a brand‑new community contest: A March‑Madness–style automation bracket!
Why we’re doing it
- To shine a spotlight on the brilliant automation work happening in the community
- To teach participants how to articulate ROI to their leadership teams
- To fuel creativity and cross‑tool collaboration
- To celebrate the builders behind the scenes
How it works
- Teams of up to 3 people
- Submissions open Feb 9
- Virtual live rounds on LinkedIn
- Final two teams get flown to MSPGeek Conference to compete LIVE
- A shareable component for the community is required, but full source code is not mandatory
We can’t wait to see what the community creates.
