A Radical Change in Endpoint Management
Relentless Solutions President and CEO, Jim-Barry Behar, began to question the value of his RMM. His team already used ImmyBot for both onboarding new workstations and maintaining them. The ease with which ImmyBot made it possible to take a factory fresh computer and make it what the end user needed it to be got Jim-Barry Behar thinking. And that thinking turned into a bold new mindset: What if ImmyBot became Relentless Solutions’ defacto RMM?
Ditching the Busy Work
Relentless Solutions spent a great deal of time chasing issues. Hours were eaten up chasing issues and making computers right again for their clients. Working that way just didn’t make sense anymore, particularly not when ImmyBot made it easy to quickly make a computer fresh again.
So they instituted a new rule:
“If you’re not done in 15 minutes, ask for an hour and we’ll flatten the machine and give you back a brand new computer.”
A Mindset Shift on RMM
Decideding to simply make endpoints fresh rather than relying on an RMM to surface alerts on “this, or that, or the other thing” changed Relentless Solutions’ relationship with thier RMM.
“I made a decision on behalf of our customers. The desktop is disposable. The laptop is disposable. Not necessarily the hardware, but the installation of it is disposable. Therefore the value of RMM other than remote control, is nil.”
An Unexpected Sales Opportunity
Before Relentless Solutions’ radical shift, onboarding new clients took months to fully roll out everything and make sure that resources were allocated appropriately. Freed from that tedium and flush with available time, Jim-Barry Behar and his team were able to notice details they simply didn’t have time for before—details that led to upsell opportunities.
“Somestime peole think they have a good computer, but it’s not really fit for the purpose of what the user is using or the number of applications they’re running. The way we can monetize that as a result of running ImmyBot is in our standardization of rolling everything out. We can see that a person who is running three, four, five pretty big apps has an i5 computer with 8GB of memory. That’s just an inappropriate allocation. We might repurpose that computer for someone more clerical and it causes an upsell to sell them an appropriate i7 32GB computer for that user that is more of a power user.”
Takeaways
With help from ImmyBot, Relentless Solutions was able to:
-
Make ImmyBot their defacto RMM.
-
Easily make endpoints fresh again.
-
Surface upsell opportunities based on fitting users with work stations appropriate for their tasks and app useage.
